my sisters an artist, add my msn itsmeisntit@live.co.uk and tell me wat sort of design u want and ill email u :d
Some places do it on the day of the tattoo, and other places will ask you what you want when you set up your appointment, and they will draw it up and show you the day of appointment and ask if you want any changes done to it! But every shop is different!

LikeDislikeAny tattoo artist at a shop or parlor will help design a tattoo with your ideas. If it is something very small and simple they can usually do it in one day, but larger and more intricate tattoos can take longer to design so you may have to wait a few days or a week before the drawing is made ready to go.

LikeDislikeUsually you’ll meet up with the tattoo artist, and have an initial consultation before you’re actual tattoo date. If you’re getting a small tattoo, the artist can sometimes get the design drawn up during your initial consultation, otherwise, you’ll have to wait until your final tattoo date.

LikeDislikeYou go to your tattooist with references (pictures, items, photos, drawings, written descriptions, etc.) Then you have a consultation. Then he/she will draw up a tattoo design based on these references for your approval. You are under no obligation to get something until you are completely ready and have no doubt that that is the image that you want.
They won’t give you the image that they draw up, they may require a small deposit ($ 20) for their time.
You can always say that you need to do some thinking before tattooing the image. Or if you are really stoked about it, then go ahead with the tattoo then or make an appointment.
luck!

LikeDislikeIf you go to a shop and ask the artists if they can design something, they can usually do it. If not, find another shop (there are some in my town that make you pick from their books…lame, right?)
The place I go to has info sheets that take down your info and then leave space for them to do some rough sketches with you there….then if they get it right you can get it inked, or they call back when they have some good pics for you, and you can come in and decide which one you like, or tweak it from there until they get just what you want. I’m sure there are many places like this. The only thing is, this way I always have to tip a lot bigger than if I brought my own pictures or wanted text…
Otherwise if you have an artistic friend or family member that would be my preference. Mainly because my friends and family can understand better what I mean when I describe wanting “Clouds like in Mulan and then a swirly thing just around the trunk of the tree…” LoL or whatever, if it’s something hard to describe…
Anyway, most of these people at tattoo shops are artists, so they should have the skill to get you just what you want. (^_^)

LikeDislikeIn my shop, when you come in to make an appointment, they’ll ask, how big it’s gonna be, style, colors, all that. And depending on size, we’ll either make an appointment to draw or just draw it on the day of the tattoo. It depends. Ask the place where you want to get it

LikeDislikeyou go in and speak to the artist and tell them what your looking for, they will draw it up for you, for the day you want it done. If when you go back you dont like bits of it they will fix it for you.

LikeDislikeany good tatoo artist will draw up your tattoo for you, if you discuss what you want at the time of booking they can work on it before you come in to have it done and make sure youlike it. If not they will make any changes before the tattoo it. Thats whats happened with all my tattoos, nobody has the same one
good luck!
ps. they are addictive haha xx
